MAC SPICE LIP LINER DERVISH MAC
It is very light weight and quite sturdy so can be carried in purse while travelling.Īnd this is how Mac Dervish looks on my lipsĪnd this is how the lip pencil looks on my face You have to sharpen this pencil as its not retractable. So it’s easy to locate shades and you can pick it out the shade easily if you hoard so many. The pencil itself is greyish in colour and the pencil top matches with the pencil shade. Packaging: This pencil comes in a black box where all the necessary information is given. It is a neutral lip liner that brightens up the complexion and goes great with all looks.
MAC SPICE LIP LINER DERVISH SKIN
The great thing about this shade is it seems to work on all skin tones. It works as a soft base for pink, peach and brown lipsticks. The range comes in a wide variety of shades that work with many different lipstick shades. The formula is very nice and you can use it while lining the outer edges of lips and best used underneath a more opaque lipstick and one that is slightly hydrating or moisturizing. You can apply any lip balm or gloss which can take care of the dryness part. When applied on the lips it gives a matte finish and makes lips a bit drier so I recommend a lip balm first to make the application smooth. You need to pull and tug to make it more intense. It is quite creamy and buttery in texture. The staying power is great at almost 6-7 hours. It helps to prevent colour from bleeding and to keep vibrant lipsticks stay on longer and the glosses in place. It’s decently pigmented as two or more swipes on lips build up the colour. It provides an average coverage to pigmented lips. I would say you can even use it on its own as it’s a very pretty shade. You can also make your lips look bigger by lining outside the edges if you have thin lips. It is perfect for defining the lips and makes them look sharper. It can be used under number of lipsticks like mac Craving, Taupe, Syrup, “O” and Sandy “B” lipsticks. Also it looks amazingly well with smokey eyes. It is one of the nude shades which match the natural colour of my lips perfectly.

Fill in lips with liner/lipstick of choice.Mac Dervish is a cooler pink shade with brown beige undertone.

Outline top lip, be careful not to over line all the way to the outer corners of lips as this can look unrealistic.ģ. Exfoliate lips with cotton bud and lip balm.Ģ. The MAC pencil is bigger in size & price but with nothing else to tell them apart I know which one I’d repurchase.ġ. Here I’m wearing MAC on the left top & bottom lip & Barry M on the right, both with lip balm underneath but I’m sure you’ll agree it looks like I’m wearing the same product. I recently bought Barry M’s russet 5 after seeing it look fabulous during a Lisa Eldridge YouTube tutorial & thought it looked very familiar.Īnd here you have it, identical swatches, the same matte texture (both are quite dry and require lip exfoliation with a balm prior to application) & the same long lasting wearability and pigmentation. I have so many that some colours are dupes for one another! I thought I’d put these to use and share them with you.Ī throwback to the brown 90s lip, the MAC lipliner in spice was a supermodel favourite, it’s a very natural looking neutral brown which would compliment all skin tones. On a day to day basis I have a preference for neutral brown/pinks.

As well as a quick way to liven up a face, in winter, a moisturising lipstick or lipgloss protects your lips from chapping better than most lip balms. I find on a good skin day I can quickly look ‘done up’ just with a good lip colour without applying anything else. I am a lip product hoarder, if I had to choose any makeup item it’d be a lipstick/liner/gloss. 9/2/16 *unfiltered swatches & lip application*
